These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, products, and services offered by Computer Housecalls, LLC (“Computer Housecalls,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), including the EDSI VMS veterinary practice management software and any text-message (SMS) communications you receive from us or from a veterinary practice using our platform.
By using our services or by opting in to receive text messages, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use our services. If you are using the services on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
To use most features of our services, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current information; to keep your password confidential; and to be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree not to:
These additional terms apply specifically to our SMS program, used by veterinary practices (“Practices”) to send billing and appointment notifications to their clients (“End Clients”).
Computer Housecalls / EDSI VMS Notifications
A transactional messaging program that sends invoice payment links, appointment reminders, payment confirmations, payment failure alerts, and refund notifications on behalf of subscribed veterinary Practices to their End Clients who have consented to receive such messages.
By providing a phone number to a Practice and indicating consent (typically through the Practice’s intake form), an End Client agrees to receive transactional SMS messages from that Practice through Computer Housecalls’ platform. Consent is not a condition of receiving veterinary services.
Message frequency varies based on Practice activity. A typical recipient receives messages only when there is a relevant invoice or appointment. Messages are not sent on a fixed schedule.
Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier and plan. Computer Housecalls does not charge any fee for sending or receiving these messages, but your carrier may.
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message, and no further messages will be sent unless you opt back in. You may also contact the Practice directly to be removed from their messaging list.
After opting out, you may opt back in by replying START or by re-providing your consent to the Practice.
For assistance, reply HELP to any message, or contact the Practice that sent the message using the phone number listed in the message body. The Practice is your primary point of contact for questions about the messages you receive.
This program is supported on all major U.S. mobile carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your phone number and other personal information. We do not sell or share mobile information for marketing purposes.
If you purchase a paid subscription, you agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes. Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law or as expressly stated by us. We may change fees with reasonable advance notice.
End Clients pay invoices directly to the Practice through Stripe, using the Practice’s own Stripe account. Computer Housecalls does not collect, hold, or process payments on behalf of Practices; we provide the software that enables the Practice to do so.
The services, including all software, designs, text, and graphics, are owned by Computer Housecalls or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the services in accordance with these Terms.
You retain ownership of any content you upload. You grant us the limited rights necessary to host, display, and process that content as needed to provide the services.
Our services integrate with third-party services such as Stripe (payments), SendGrid (email delivery), Twilio (SMS delivery), and Supabase (data storage). Use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.
You may stop using the services at any time by closing your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or use the services in a way that causes harm to us or others. Upon termination, your right to use the services ends, but provisions that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will remain in effect.
The services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Use of the services is at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Computer Housecalls and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to these Terms or the services. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for the services in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Computer Housecalls from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Burlington County, New Jersey, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated by email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of the services after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Computer Housecalls regarding the services. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
